How to define the meaning of your work?

— Lily Harris

I have a note written in my notes app that says, “That which is most personal is most universal.” As a Holistic Nutrition Practitioner, I’m trying to connect with individuals in order to better their health. The more I can make it clear that we all have shared experiences & problems that we’d like to solve, however personal, the easier it is for everyone to heal. That’s my overall job & everyone deserves health.

Because I’m a multifaceted human, along with my work in recipe development & nutrition, I don’t restrict my work within a single box. I had a career in fashion before this & that will always be a part of me. I love music, interiors, antiques, cats, being active, swimming, comedy, etc. I also still drink alcohol, appreciate a dance party or night out with friends, love trying new restaurants, etc. My work becomes more meaningful when I can invite people into my world without applying the filters that would keep me perfectly in one box. This also ends up being more welcoming & warm.

Warmth is inviting, which brings people in. Science-backed information is enlightening, which spreads competence. Encouragement is empowering & I want to build confidence in everyone’s personal ability to heal. Health can be fun & there’s no final destination.
